  I hired Frankfort Pest Control to conduct a termite inspection as required for a VA loan. Their report showed that there was no active infestation, only signs of past termite damage, and past termite treatment. They also included in their report that the prior termite treatment was "non-standard." And then in the recommendation section of the report, they recommended retreatment due to non-standard prior treatment.
  
  When I called the company to ask about the difference between the "non-standard" and "standard" treatment, they stated that there is not a national standard. Instead, the prior termite treatment was not according to their business standard. So, the termites were not killed in the standard way that their business kills termites.
  
  However, since the report had already been submitted to the mortgage company, the mortgage company required me to have the home re-treated based on the inspector's recommendation.
  
  After calling several other pest control companies, no one else could match the price or timeframe that I needed. So, I was forced to use Frankfort Pest Control to kill the dead termites in a "standard" way which, by definition, isn't a standard.
  
  While I can tell that Frankfort Pest Control did treat the house, I have no way of knowing whether they performed the work according to their own standard. Nor do I know if any other company in the future will state that Frankfort Pest Control's work was not according to standard either.
  
  I feel as if my arm was twisted and forced to spend a lot of money under false pretense.
